This is the amazing show that twenty-one U3A Calpe members experienced this week at the first night of Cirque du Soleil’s ‘Alegria’ performance in Alicante.
The company has a world-wide reputation as being a top entertainer and this show certainly did not disappoint!
On a very warm evening we were all very pleased to take our seats inside the wonderfully cool ‘big top’. The evening hadn’t started too well, as the bus we were travelling in developed a mechanical fault soon after getting on the N332. Fortunately, with the help of two Civil Guard officers, the driver and a mechanic, the fault was quickly rectified and we were back on the road and at the venue in ample time!
I think we all agreed that the Grand Final Aerial Trapeze was literally, breathtaking to watch! The co-ordination and skill displayed by this amazing troupe of performers is indeed awesome and led to a standing ovation by a very ‘joyful’ audience.
