DESCRIPTION:We have negotiated a special event for U3A members at the new exciting space in the centre of Calpe – ART SHELLTER.  \nMore than just a workshop venue\, Art Shellter is a fully handmade space that unifies your passion for art with the joy of sharing moments over a glass of fine wine or aromatic coffee. Creative workshops\, Painting Classes\, various Group Events – we offer our guests the possibility to spend quality time in an environment that awakens their imagination and creativity.  \nThe event will take place on Tuesday\, 14th April\, at 11:00. During 2 hours\, the participants will paint handmade decorative figures\, using traditional Spanish patterns\, textures\, and colour palettes. You will be gently guided by a professional artist\, with the freedom to either follow Spanish-inspired ornaments or to paint whatever feels right for you. \nThis workshop is designed for enjoyment\, creativity\, and connection. No previous painting experience is needed — just curiosity and the wish to spend a pleasant\, creative time together. All materials are provided\, and you will take home your own hand-painted piece of art. \nA special price of 20 Euros payable on arrival. DESCRIPTION:New Special \nA ONE OFF different venue for our monthy coffee meeting at Tucana. Carrer Blasco Ibanez (where Oasis was). \nJennifer\, the owner invites us to enjoy a talk all about coffee and have a taste. She writes : \nYou can find Tucana on Facebook and on instagram as @tucanacalpe. \nWe are coffee roasters\, we have our own electric coffee roaster on the premises\, we roast 1.5 kilos in about 9 minutes. Its the first roaster of it kind in Spain\, it is completely sustainable \, zero emissions.  \nAll our coffee is fresh\, we also serve tapas \, breakfast and cakes. \nOne of the things we care about is intolerance to food. I have celiac so I am very aware of food issues and cater for it. \nThe process of making coffee\, buying the green coffee\, the regions\, the altitude\, everything that goes into making a cup of nice coffee is an amazing chemical process. \nWe need numbers for this event please so could reserve with tericloudsdale@hotmail.com by 12th April. DESCRIPTION:An overnight stay in the peace and quiet of Tarbarca Island at a Bed & Breakfast places after sailing there from Alicante in the morning. We currently have 8 people expressing interest and we have rooms available. Cost will be about 80 euros per person for accommodation and boat but plus meals. People can spend their own time at leisure and we will book a table for dinner for everyone. We have room for a few more people but must have booking and deposit of 40 euros by 15th March please. SUMMARY:The Canelobre Caves - A wonder of nature
DESCRIPTION:The Canelobre Caves are one of the main tourist attractions not only of Busot\, but of the entire province of Alicante . Located at an altitude of 700 meters on the northern slope of the Cabeçó D’Or mountain range – one of the few Jurassic formations in the Prebetic region of the province – they are a magnificent example of a karst cave . \nInside the caves there is a space of more than 80\,000 m2 that can be accessed through a 45-meter tunnel\, in which water and rock have given rise to impressive shapes such as stalactites\, stalagmites\, columns and jellyfish \, among many others. \nHistory \nThis cave is located in Upper Jurassic limestone\, which is 145 million years old. Although little was known about this cave until practically the 19th century\, its discovery has been attributed to the Arabs \, around the 10th century. \nThe caves were not opened to the public until after the mid-20th century . During the Spanish Civil War\, they were used as an aircraft repair workshop by the Republican army\, and it was at that time that the current access tunnel to the cave was drilled\, as well as several platforms inside. \nCost will be 47 Euro per person. \nProposed timeline \nTimetable 10.00 leave Calpe to arrive Caves approx.11.30 as journey approx. 1.5 hours \n            11.40-12.30 Guided tour \n            12.30 -13.00 Transfer to Busot town \n            13.00-13.30 Museum or free time \n            13.30 lunch at Ca Toni restaurant \n            16.30 leave Busot to arrive Calpe 17.30/ 18.00 \nReservations to our Vice President (who is running this outing) to vicepresident@u3acalpe.org. DESCRIPTION:We have arranged a very special evening at Kathvada Retreat which is a great setting with wonderful views near Bennissa. This venue is not usually available but we have managed to secure a booking. Really lovely buffet with starters\, mains\, desserts\, wine\, soft drinks and music from RENEGRADE who may well be new to you! A three piece band playing Music from 60s\, 70s\, 80s – all the tunes we know and will provide a great party atmosphere. Ladies please dress up for this one but accept gentlemen in smart shorts by request as we may have hot weather! \nPrice is 48 Euros per person to include all the above plus transport from Calpe at 4 pickup points with two buses. Guests welcome for 50 euros per person. Reservations with 15 Euro per person deposit by 25th March with payment by 1st May please.
