The Thursday morning Badminton group usually consists of about a dozen players, 50/50 men/women with all ability levels. Members tend to look on the morning more as an enjoyment than cut-throat playing. We have the use of four courts. After the session, most of us go for a well-earned drink in the bar, upstairs. We are always ready to welcome new members, and at a cost of one euro per person per session, it’s a good morning’s fun that won’t break the bank. Last summer, Bill Ingram started a very successful Fellowship Lunch Group for former members of CALPE 41 Club (and their friends!), who wanted to continue the camaraderie of the group. The mixed gender group has been taken into Calpe U3A and so is now open to all men and women members of U3A. They meet on the first Thursday of every month at Hotel Gran Sol for lunch, 1.00 for 1.30.
