Fifteen U3A Calpe members enjoyed a guided tour of the Jardin de L’Albarda last Friday (28th June). Mostly first-time visitors, we were amazed at this hidden gem in an urbanisation near La Sella and Pedreguer. Our guide, the very well informed, humorous and patient Nicoli, led us from the splendid house through the various garden designs, each one spectacular in it’s own way, and explained the plan for the original garden and how it has been developed over the years towards the ecosystem and biodiversity that is working today. We all agreed that a follow up trip, perhaps in a different season or to one of their concerts would be something to consider for another U3A Calpe event!
Then, after a very short journey, fifteen thirsty and hungry travellers were served a menu del dia ‘a la brasa’ in the popular Spanish family run Restaurant Armell in Pedreguer. A very enjoyable day out!
