Angelika Volkenandt runs the patchwork group. She is a very accomplished teacher of many years’ standing.
To “patchwork” means to cut all kinds of fabrics into smaller and smaller pieces to finally rearrange them in a completely new way and at last to quilt the pieced result for the finishing touch. It is a very relaxing and satisfying hobby in which you can play with your fantasy and creativity, with material and colors – and your work can be enjoyed and admired by the whole family.
Angelika says, “In our class we learn the different techniques of patchwork and quilting and everybody can join us – the only thing you need is a sewing machine you can carry, and the ability to sew a more or less straight seam. It is not a problem if you have no idea about patchwork and quilting – that is what I am there for.
“I worked as a tutor for fashion design and patchwork and quilting in Germany for many years, and to play and work with fabric has been my passion since my childhood. To share my knowledge and to help you to have the same fun as I have with this hobby is a great joy. So do not hesitate to get in contact with me. You are welcome!”
The group meets at Angelika’s home, on Friday mornings at 10:30AM.
